Discussion forums for people working with issues affecting men in the ACT
Canberra Men's Centre has begun providing a range of discussion forums around issues of interest to people working with or providing support to men living in the ACT and region, as well as using the platform to build on-line tools for our staff and Board of Directors.
- The August Group: A forum for a working group of White Ribbon Ambassadors and state/territory coordinators
- WRCR: White Ribbon - Capital Region is the ACT White Ribbon Campaign coordinating group
- DVPC: A discussion forum enabling the Domestic Violence Prevention Council's subcommittee members to work collaboratively on line.
Some of the other forums we're considering include:
- Men and Depression - for community sector workers, private practitioners
- Anger and Violence - for counsellors, group leaders
- Leaving Hospital - for people supporting men returning to the community after admission to PSU
- Men's Sheds - staff, volunteers, management committees
- Student counsellors
This resource may be made available to other community groups and organisations who are able to make arrangements for moderating their own forums, and whose values and activities are compatible with CMC's Purpose, Vision and Principles.
