sally scanlain, outreach case manager

Sally grew up in Sydney and Brisbane but came to Canberra thirty-five years ago with her husband whom she met in Scotland when she was on an overseas working holiday. Sally has three boys, which is why she chose to be pictured with the only other member of the household that doesn’t leave the toilet seat up, her dog Jessie.

Sally has worked in the Canberra Community Sector for thirty years and has extensive training and experience in the areas of mental health, disability, childcare, aged care and nursing, (both people and animals).  Sally has a Diploma of Community Services and  has worked for several organisations in the ACT including Woden Community Service, Southside Community Services, The Canberra Hospital, Anglicare and ADACAS. Sally brings to the Canberra Men’s Centre many years of experience working with homeless people and an understanding of the complexity of issues that may precede and result from being homeless.
