Michael has lived in the ACT since he was a boy, growing up with a Polish family background. He worked in Corrections for 7 years, where he discovered an interest in working with young offenders which took him beyond the limits of the custodial role.
To give himself more scope for working creatively with young people, he moved to the Marymead Child and Family Centre's High Support Program, where he worked for 5 years as a Senior Direct Care Worker with children and young people with behavioural problems, before coming to work with the Canberra Men's Centre.
